Dr Favour Owolabi

Chair of Trustees

Dr Favour is a passionate and dedicated senior registrar dentist based in Scotland, originally hailing from Nigeria. As Chair of Trustees, she brings exceptional leadership, unwavering commitment, and a wealth of expertise to propel our charity's mission forward. Her dedication is deeply personal, having witnessed a family member's courageous battle with cancer and inspiring survival, Dr. Favour has been driven to make a profound and lasting impact on the lives of those affected by the disease.

With a heart for service and a vision for growth, Dr Favour devotes her time, skills, and passion to strengthening our charity. Her leadership and compassion inspire the team and energise the wider community, ensuring our mission reaches those who need it most. Through her efforts, she champions a future where no one faces cancer alone, creating hope and support for countless individuals and families.

Ayomide Oduola

Trustee

Ayomide Oduola has been an integral part of our charity since its inception, dedicating himself to supporting our mission with remarkable diligence. Based in Manchester, Ayomide is a student pilot whose passion for learning and perseverance shines through in all he does. His quiet determination and commitment make him a steadfast force behind the scenes.

Though naturally reserved, Ayomide's actions speak louder than words. His hard work and steadfast support have been instrumental in driving the charity's growth and success, enabling us to continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by cancer. Ayomide's dedication and perseverance embody the heart of our organisation, inspiring all who work alongside him.

Lindsey Berry

Trustee

Lindsey works at Elm Arts Company, a performing arts school, where she teaches and supports the emotional wellbeing of children and young people. Her work focuses on helping young people develop confidence, express their individuality and reach their potential through the performing arts.

She has known Family Unit Trust since its early days and has followed its growth and contribution to the community. The charity's cancer-support work has particular personal significance to Lindsey following the loss of her father to cancer.

Lindsey brings experience in performing arts, youth engagement and emotional wellbeing to her role with Family Unit Trust. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her toy poodle, Mabel, visiting charity shops and collecting clip-on earrings.

Karina Tiplady

Trustee

Karina Tiplady is an experienced operations and community-sector professional with a strong background in leadership, partnership development and service delivery.

She spent 16 years working in Passenger Services at Manchester Airport, progressing from frontline operational roles to Team Leader and Supervisor. In these positions, Karina led diverse teams, coordinated complex terminal operations and maintained high standards of service within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Karina has also worked with FareShare Greater Manchester for almost seven years, progressing from Warehouse Coordinator for FareShare Plus to Membership Coordinator. Her current role involves building relationships with community organisations, supporting member services and contributing to the effective distribution of essential food provision across Greater Manchester.

Her experience provides the Board with valuable insight into operational management, stakeholder engagement, community needs and the practical challenges charities face in securing resources, managing volunteers and delivering sustainable services.

As a Trustee of Family Unit Trust, Karina is committed to strengthening organisational governance, developing effective partnerships and supporting the charity's long-term growth. She is passionate about ensuring that children, young people and families affected by cancer, hardship and health inequalities receive accessible, compassionate and culturally appropriate support.

Governance & transparency

How our charity is run.

Our trustees are unpaid volunteers who together form the board of Family Unit Trust. They meet quarterly to set strategic direction, approve plans and budgets, and ensure our work serves the people we exist for.

We follow the Charity Governance Code, publish our annual reports and accounts on the Charity Commission website, and operate clear safeguarding, equality and conflict-of-interest policies.
